We have been practicing for our Christmas Concert as well! Lyric sheets have been sent home for the students to continue practicing. After recess we worked on our spellings, learning about contractions. And after lunch we worked on our summatives. The students have come up with some fantastic ideas for their objects and I can't for them to share! They have been very creative and thinking about these objects realistically. Today we learned about symmetry and looked at lines of symmetry and symmetrical shapes with Grade 2s and 3s.

After lunch we continued to do research on our summative project. They will be finishing their research tomorrow and starting to look at what they want to design. A reminder to students and parents that they do not need to bring anything in for this project, they are not making the object or a presentation. After lunch, we continued our research for our summative project. These projects are done all at school and we are doing research every day this week. This is a skill that we are developing as a class and the kids are enjoying it greatly!

Reminders:
-International Day, Friday.

Today in math we learned about congruent shapes for Grade 2s and 3s. After recess we had our spelling test on our new words. After lunch, we discussed our summative project.

Today we discussed our summative project for our Phenomenal Forces unit. A letter has been sent home with each child to explain the project. They are working in partners to create an object that clearly and positively impacts humans and the environment and demonstrates two forces. They will not be making physically making the object but will outline the needed materials the steps to make it. This will be done completely in class, they do not need to do anything or bring anything from home. If your child would like to bring an electronical device to do research they are allowed, but are completely responsible for it. We at The Maples are not responsible for any electronic devices, therefore if they choose to bring one in they are solely responsible for it. They are only allowed to use this device in the given class time. Let me know if you have any questions!

To end our day we worked on our Ukraine project!
